Scot Smith, CEO of a large multinational corporation, decided to use his global expertise in setting up a business that also supported a social cause. He then teamed up with Dr Kodjo Afidegnon, a financial & engineering executive, focused on social development in Togo, Africa.
Together, they thought of Tonomi – A brand that would focus on improving the lives of farmers in Africa while providing the customers in US and other global markets with Super Foods organically grown in Africa.
This was not just about giving the farmers money, but improving their productivity and developing international markets for their produce.
Today, ten percent of our profits are returned to a Togolese foundation that enables women and children's empowerment in Togo. From connecting farmers with the latest technology to helping them discover newer markets, we also provide a proper school for Togolese children. We are focused on empowering Africa, while giving our consumers great gluten-free flours and coffee.
